All About GTGB

Several years ago, the Christmas season had begun to lose its luster. As my relationship with God continued to grow, I realized more and more that Christmas was falling short of its true meaning. Out of necessity to give a gift, I was just buying things for my loved ones, sometimes things they hadn’t even stated they needed or wanted.

I was simply buying to buy.

And unknowingly feeding a machine that was hurting people instead of helping them.

So, I began searching for more meaningful gifts and discovered that many different nonprofits and ministries sold handmade items that helped others in need. So, when I purchased a gift for my loved ones that gift would do more than check a name off of my Christmas shopping list. Instead, that gift would tell a story to the one who received it. The gift they held in their hands on Christmas was truly a tangible example of the hands and feet of Jesus in motion through the provision of dignified work and fair wages.

It felt so good.

And it put Christ back into Christmas for me.

During that season the Lord gave me the vision that would become Gifts That Give Back.

Since then, that dream has expanded from a small Christmas shopping get-together in my home to a large charitable annual vendor market, a GTGB Roadshow shop, and two storefronts in the two most beautiful tourist destinations in Ohio; the Hocking Hills and the Lake Erie shoreline.

You make the world a better place when you shop at Gifts That Give Back, whether it is the  vendor market, Roadshow, or storefronts. You are helping those in need both here at home and all across the globe by buying products that are ethically made.

Jesus instructs us to “love our neighbors as ourselves,” and our neighbors are literally everyone; our literal neighbors as well as those brothers and sisters all across the globe.

Gifts That Give Back is one way to love them well through the way we choose to spend our dollars.

Together we can literally change the world while we shop!

FAIR TRADE

Trade between companies in developed countries and producers in developing countries in which fair prices are paid to the producers.

ETHICALLY MADE

The workers are being paid a fair wage and have good working conditions. They also look for ways to make the production process more sustainable and works to lesson their environmental impact.

This Is Us

We are the Davis's!

We are just your standard, imperfect family on a mission to show the world the love of Jesus through shopping with purpose.

This began a few years ago with a few fair trade Christmas gifts that eventually led us to places we never could have planned for.

What has sprung forth is vendor markets, a mobile shop, and buying and remodeling a couple buildings in Logan and Lakeside Ohio that now house  storefronts, conference room space, and vacation rentals to help sustain it all.

What we are sure of is this...God can do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power at work. (Ephesians 3:20)

We cannot wait to meet you soon....and of course shop with you!
